Doctrinal templates are invaluable to IEW staffs and operators.
They are used to--
* Develop situation templates.
* Assist in identifying types of units.
* Identify gaps in intelligence holdings and in the collection plan.
* Assist in locating enemy units, weapons, equipment, unit boundaries, and
HVTs.
* Assist in locating and identifying command and control, combat support, and
combat service support elements.
