(2) Synthetic aperture radar (SAR)(Figure 1-14) is flown by the Air
Force's RF-4C aircraft in a standoff mode to gain resolution primarily on
fixed targets.
SAR is flown using a system which has a higher resolution
than the SLAR flown by the OV-1D.
