g. Actions When Warned of a CB Attack.
Once chemical or biological weapons have been used, your unit may
receive warning of an impending attack through intelligence sources.
When warned of an impending attack, your unit should immediately go to
MOPP 1. Once protected, personnel can prepare their positions against
the expected attack. They can construct shelters for themselves and
for food, water, supplies, equipment, and vehicles.
Place all food and water in sealed containers if possible. While
covers will protect them against liquid agents, sealing will protect
against vapor agents. Designated personnel should emplace automatic
chemical agent alarms upwind of the unit area. Personnel should cover
equipment and vehicles with any available material to prevent
contamination. This is important, because equipment could transmit
contamination to personnel.
After the attack, personnel should perform self-aid, first aid, MOPP
Gear Exchange, and Operational Decontamination, as necessary and as
the tactical situation permits.
