If possible, form a group of three. One person plays the role of the casualty, the
second plays the role of the combat lifesaver, and the third plays the role of the
evaluator (the evaluator uses this lesson as a guide). Practice the following:
Turning the casualty from his stomach onto his back
Performing the head-tilt/chin-lift.
Performing the jaw thrust.
Checking the casualty for breathing.
Placing the casualty in a recovery position.
If you have access to an appropriate manikin and a nasopharyngeal airway,
practice inserting the airway.
