Vectors are straight lines that indicate both
__________________ and ____________________
of a quantity.
Two or more vectors can be added together and
become a single vector, called the RESULTANT
vector. Vectors on the same axis are added
algebraically. For example, if you have two vectors,
+ 3 and + 4, both on the X axis, their sum +7 is the
value of the __________________ vector.
All vectors start from the point of origin. When they are
on the same axis and pointing in the same direction,
the resultant vector equals the ALGEBRAIC sum of the
vectors. The vectors may be illustrated like this:
Two vectors on
the same axis and
in same direction:
The value of the resultant vector is ________________
on the X axis.
