Continues insertion until chest wall is penetrated ("pop" is

felt, air heard escaping). (Instructor may need to inform
student that there is a "pop" and/or sound of escaping air if
the manikin is not designed to provide these clues.)
5.
Removes the needle, leaving the catheter in place.

Secures the catheter hub to the chest wall using the strip of
