AIRLAND BATTLE DOCTRINE
OVERVIEW
This lesson is designed to teach you the fundamentals of AirLand Battle
doctrine.
You will learn the U.S. Army's operational concept of
contemporary warfare. You will learn the basic tenets of the doctrine and
their interaction. This lesson will also familiarize you with the levels of
warfare and the execution of AirLand Battle doctrine.
There are three learning events in this lesson.
Learning Event 1 is
designed to teach you what AirLand Battle is and how it relates to our
Battle doctrine was developed.
A practical exercise to test your
comprehension of the content will follow Learning Event 1.
Learning Event 2 is designed to teach you the levels of war and combat
operations involved with AirLand Battle. The explanation of the levels of
war includes the distinctions and sometimes overlapping between them.
A
discussion of deep battle, an important component of AirLand Battle
doctrine, is also included. A practical exercise to test your comprehension
of the content will follow Learning Event 2.
Learning Event 3 is designed to teach you the dynamics of battle. This is
an explanation of both combat elements and imperatives.
A practical
exercise to test your comprehension of the content will follow Learning
Event 3.
