3. Biological Warfare Agents.
Biological warfare (BW), is the use of pathogens or toxins as weapons. Pathogens include bacteria
and viruses, and cause diseases such as Anthrax, Botulinum, Cholera and Plague, Figure 2-2.
Pathogens, as weapons, would be used against strategic targets, such as food supplies, troop
concentrations, and population centers to create panic and disrupt mobilization plans.
