Step 4.
Remain down until the blast wave has passed and debris
has stopped falling.
Step 5.
Afterwards, stay calm, check for injuries, check
weapons and equipment for damage, and prepare to
continue the mission.
A depression in the earth's surface, logs, large rocks, or other
objects provide protection if other cover is unavailable, but only if
immediately adjacent to you. Remember to keep your head toward the
burst when in a ditch or behind a hill. (Figure 1-3.)
