Being alert for the symptoms and the method of attack are two ways of
protecting yourself and your unit against a chemical attack. There
are also additional sources of information for determining that an
attack is occurring or has occurred. These sources include alarm
systems, chemical agent detector kits, contamination markers, NBC
reports, occurrence of dead animals, and the appearance of oily
substances on foliages If your unit is in an area suspected of being
contaminated, the detector kit can be used to determine whether agents
are actually present in vapor or liquid form.
