Using
abbreviations
Don't use abbreviations that are unfamiliar to the reader without defining them at
their first usage.
Use abbreviations sparingly.
Don't create new abbreviations -authorized abbreviations are found in AR 310-
50, Authorized Abbreviations, Brevity Codes, and Acronyms.
Use capital letters to identify:
Capitalizing
The beginning of a sentence.
A proper noun.
The first word of a direct quotation.
