The value of the remaining IPB products will depend on the accuracy of doctrinal
templates, weather and terrain overlays, and thorough examination of possible enemy
courses of action.
In addition to early identification of probable enemy courses of action, the
situation template technique can be used by the electronic warfare (EW) analyst.
The EW analyst creates templates to illustrate the enemy's capability to use
electronic systems for command, control, and communication, reconnaissance,
surveillance, target acquisition, and radio electronic combat (REC). Templates
also aid in the selection and use of friendly EW assets.
