OVERVIEW
LESSON DESCRIPTION:
In this lesson you will learn how to perform collection management in order to
fulfill the commander's priority and routine requests for intelligence and combat
information.
TERMINAL LEARNING OBJECTIVE:
ACTION:
Determine the commander's priority intelligence requirements (PIR) and
information requirement (IR), identify intelligence indicators for each
PIR/IR, and develop and evaluate a multidisciplined collection plan.
CONDITION:
You will be given narrative information and illustrations from FM 34-1.
STANDARD:
You will develop a collection plan that fulfills the commander's PIR/IR
in accordance with the provisions of FM 34-1.
REFERENCE:
The material contained within these lesson was derived from FM 34-1.
INTRODUCTION
Threat integration supports the intelligence collection effort. Situation
templates and event analysis matrixes are used to establish collection priorities
based on courses of action the enemy is most likely to adopt. The primary
indicators of events and activities, can be framed in time and location so the
collection manager can determine optimum resource mix.
