PART B: ANALYZING EXTRACTION INDUSTRIES
1. Extraction industries involve the obtaining of solid, liquid, and gaseous raw materials including
ores, minerals, natural gas, oil, timber, and food from their natural or cultivated environments. The
raw materials are then transported and most of them are processed. The end product of an
extraction industry is normally the in product of a processing industry. Figure 2-5 further clarifies
the relationship of the industrial category through the extraction method to the end product.
