PART A -ABC-M8 VGH CHEMICAL AGENT DETECTOR PAPER
1.
Description.
M8 Chemical Agent Detector Paper (Figure 4-1, p. 4-4) is used to test
25 sheets of paper of a dark, slightly brownish gray color. When a
sheet of paper touches a liquid chemical agent, the paper changes
color. It turns dark green or black, if it touches a V Agent. It
turns yellow, if it contacts a G Agent. If the paper touches Blister
Agent, H, it turns dark red or purple. The inside back cover of the
booklet of M8 Paper gives instructions for its use. To use the paper,
simply tear out a strip of paper. Blot the paper on the suspected
agent, but do not rub it. The inside front cover of the booklet
depicts the color changes the paper will undergo if an agent is
present. M8 Paper has limitations: It will detect only liquid
similar to those of chemical agents. Thus, M8 Paper should not be
relied upon totally. It is one test, but it should be supplemented by
other means. M8 Paper is part of the M256 Chemical Agent Detector
Kit.
