Step 7.
Install the lithium battery (15) in the battery and
connector case (12), and wind power cables (13 and 14)
around the center bracket of the connector case.
Position the cable ends so that they will not contact
the battery, (Figure 5-26).
NOTE
Ensure cables are routed between the foam blocks on the
cover plate assembly.
Step 8.
Install the cover plate assembly (11) with the removal
strap (32) on the connector case, tightening the
captive screw (10) at the center of the cover plate,
(Figure 5-26).
Step 9.
Position the battery and connector case and cover plate
assembly on the reader, and position the removal strap
around the reader. Ensure the free ends of the shorter
strap are securely fastened together at the bottom of
the reader.
Step 10. Set the carrying case (1) on its end opposite the front
cover flap (2) and open the flap. Grasp the removal
strap (3) with one hand and grasp at the edge near the
front panel assembly with the other hand. Lift the
reader and carefully lower it into the carrying case,
(Figure 5-32).
NOTE
Ensure the selector switch is set to the OFF position
before closing the carrying case flap.
CAUTION
Failure to install the reader in the carrying case as
instructed may result in damage to the equipment. When the
reader is lifted by the removal strap, it may fall from the
battery and connector case unless the strap is correctly
positioned and securely fastened. Prior to placing the
reader in the carrying case, ensure the key is secured
under the velcro flap of carrying case or damage to the
reader finish may result.
