are identified through a detailed analysis of the mission, AO, and threat
capabilities. Mentally wargame, without weather or terrain constraints, each
course of action to visualize threat composition. Knowledge of threat doctrine
provides a starting point. Doctrinal templates may be required to reflect the
sequential order of a threat unit in the attack from its assembly area to the final
objective.
