Aviation intermediate level maintenance is provided by the transportation
aircraft maintenance company (TAMC).
The TAMC is located in the division
support command (DISCOM).
As you can see, the light infantry division aviation battalion (AVN BDE)
constitutes a tremendous amount of support for the division as a whole.
Division Artillery (DIVARTY)--Light Infantry
Finally, we will present the light infantry division's artillery (Figure
23). The light infantry division's artillery is organized around the 105-mm
howitzer.
The light infantry DIVARTY has three organic 105-mm battalions
that are normally in direct support of the various brigades of the division.
Additionally, there is one 155-mm (towed--M198) howitzer battery that
normally reinforces or provides general support to the other artillery
battalions of DIVARTY. It can be placed in direct support.
