ancestry.
WORK ETHNIC: (Fostered by the Protestant work ethic). The belief that a person is of little or no
value unless occupied in some visibly productive manner. This ethic places hard work, especially

YELLOW PERIL: A slogan reflecting fear that Asian-Americans would "breed like rabbits" and
become a majority of the population.
ZIONISM: A Jewish nationalist movement that had as its goal the creation and support of a Jewish
national state in Palestine, the ancient homeland of the Jews. (Britannica)
